3. From expert to manager

During my career, I have worked with experts in actuarial science, information technology, finance and many other fields.

I am always amazed by the skills and knowledge people can demonstrate, whatever the specialty.

On several occasions, I have had the opportunity to have serious discussions with recognized experts about their future. People often think that their professional progress necessarily goes through management. It is certainly the case in many organizations, but in others, it is possible to grow and contribute greatly without worrying about the obligations of management.

Indeed, taking a management position often means slowing down your skills as a technical expert, and trading them for management expertise.
